• We scan original artworks up to 1500×2200mm in a single pass, as well as numerous other features.
• The only system of its kind in Australia, one of only 250 units worldwide.
• Most units in Europe are installed in Museum’s and Universities to capture data for archiving purposes of delicate manuscripts and the like, while many in the USA are being used in Fine Art.
• We scan artworks and capture Image data up to 48 bit graphics (the highest resolution and definition possible.)
• Our system has the capability of scanning objects up to 190mm deep in the same high definition.
• We print up to 1.2 metres wide x any length,(up to the length of the roll pending on the material), using the latest colour management systems, calibrated to our materials with long-life pigment inks (75 years plus) which means, reproductions are very close to the original on various materials including Acid free Artists Canvas, Fine Art and watercolour papers.
The flatbed scanning technology combined with using archival quality UV enhanced pigment inks, Cie-Elle can reproduce your fine art as a giclee print on quality artist canvas, water resistant and acid free, and finish the canvas with an optional giclee veneer ready for stretching.
Our flatbed scanner has a number of significant advantages over photography:
(just to name a few)
1. Focus – Unlike digital camera backs where the focus can only be set visually through the camera’s ground glass, the scanner uses a complex software algorithm to focus. This eliminates human error and maximises sharpness on all scans.
2. Lighting – Our scanner uses the Synchron™ lighting system. The Synchron lighting system uses a patented moving lamp design that provides even illumination and reduces overall light exposure on originals, providing even illumination across the entire surface.
3. Lens Resolution – Pixels on most digital camera backs are 8 microns apart, and most standard lenses will not resolve an image this small. As a result, data is not accurately placed on each pixel, lowering the resolution of photography. The Lenses used in our scanner are ultra high resolution, and is specially modified to meet our technical requirements.
4. Squareness to Camera – Traditionally, images are captured using a tripod, this makes it almost impossible to square a wall-mounted image. The scanning head on the scanner is perfectly square to the artwork bed.
